Candid portraits Series, all individual images are 29" x 29" (73 x 73 cm), 1984 - 87

The images of this series were photographed with a 35 mm camera outfitted with a 1000 mm mirror type telephoto lens (about 20 times the magnification of standard lens) and a motor drive set to 3 frames per second. Thus the sequence of images of each piece in the series runs from left to right with one third of a second having elapsed between each.

14 pieces in the series were photographed on 57th Street in New York and the remaining 4 on Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles.
